Famous Wardrobe from TV & Movie Scenes

Our bedroom furniture boffins love a movie, so the team have put together a list of famous movie scenes with wardrobes.

The wardrobe is the pinnacle hiding spot in a horror movie, so we've tried to be creative to give some lesser known onsite scenes. Can you think of any others?

The Potter Boggart

If your Boggart is bad organisation and small wardrobes, we have just the spell. Potter has a number of famous options, the iconic closet under the stairs, the vanishing cabinet but we love the Closet Monster!

In Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, Daniel Radcliffe and his co-stars take on their Boggarts that emerge from the wardrobe by making them look 'riddikulus'. The Prison of Azkaban went on to smash the box office with $792.2 million without having to use any spells in real life.

We later see in the film, the significance of Harry and Professor Lupin's Boggarts, which show Harry come face to face with a dementor before Lupin intervenes, turning the Boggart into the moon. This hint in the film becomes a piece of the puzzle in the revelation of Lupin's true identity.

Entry to Narnia

The secret gateway via the wardrobe to the magical world of Narnia. If you end up ruling this magical world, remember, once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia.

Released in 2005, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the tale of the Pevensie siblings, evacuated from London during the second world war, discovering a wardrobe that leads to the magical land of Narnia.

Within this world, they discover Aslan needs their help to defeat the evil white witch, portrayed by Tilda Swinton. The film was popular on release, seeing a $745million revenue at box office. With the success of the movie, Disney released a further two films for the movie series to create the trilogy.

Iron Suit Up

Maybe you need somewhere to store the same outfit in different colours. So does Tony Stark. Your outfits may not be as advanced as Iron Man's, but you have the same idea

Iron man 3 sees Robert Downey Jr. portray Iron Man when he encounters Ben Kingsley, who we believe to be the Mandarin, a terrorist looking to one-up Iron Man. Throughout the film, we see Tony Stark develop his suits alongside his inner personality to defeat the Mandarin with the multiple self-functioning Iron Man suits that add to his arsenal.

This final Iron Man film earned a huge reception at box office, making $1.215 billion. A large number for many, however, we're sure that Iron Man would be lucky to break even with this after the collateral damage seen in the film.

Rose and wardrobe

A sophisticated dinner calls for a sophisticated dress, handed to you by a sophisticated wardrobe. Just like Madame De La Grande Bouche, this wardrobe could have the perfect outfit for a special occasion.

The Beauty and The Beast 1991 is a classic Disney musical/fantasy, adapted from the book, involving a young woman called Belle who agrees to live with the Beast to free her father.

Through the journey, Belle, played by Paige O'Hara, discovers that the Beast, Robby Benson, is secretly an enchanted prince. Through the film, Belle helps the Beast learn how to love and revert himself to his human form. The popularity of the film saw Disney make $440.1 million at box office.

Boo's Door Ending

A movie all about doors to closets and scaring children. But Sully being reunited with Boo through the reconstruction of her door is by far the most iconic scene.

Monsters Inc. A film that explores the world of monsters in search of energy through the screams of children. Whilst children are harmful to the world in which the monsters live, their screams provide the energy that the monsters so desperately need.

Whilst smashing the scream records, Sully, John Goodman, a scream legend in the monster world, comes across Boo, who manages to creep into the monster world and cause panic. Sully soon realises that Boo is not as harmful as he thought. Box office saw Monsters Inc make $577.4 million, leading to the prequel of Monsters University, made in 2013.

Where is my Super Suit?

Therefore, Bob and his best friend Frozone, Samuel L. Jackson, look to relive their glory days as superheroes behind Helen's (Elastigirl's) back.

However, she soon discovers their secret and is dragged into saving Bob from the evil Syndrome, a villain that Bob consequently created through his arrogance in his previous years. The Incredibles saw revenue of $633 million. This popularity lead to the sequel of Incredibles 2 in 2018.

Colin Firth, who plays Harry, teaches Eggsy the ways of the secret service, including the high-end suits and disguised weapons that help the secret service stay discrete. Eggsy is tasked with helping the secret service take down eco-terrorist, Richmond Valentine, played by Samuel L. Jackson. The film saw a revenue of $414.4 million and its success lead to the sequel of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
